Easter Writing

This Easter Writing idea is a great way to keep kids engaged before Easter and you will also get a great Easter writing display. The kids will be so proud when they see what they have created. 

   

To make the Easter Quilt, students do the writing activity on one of the Easter quilt square pages then color the other squares.

These are a few of the Easter quilt square pages. There are 7 different writing prompts to choose from and each one comes in two different formats. 

   

   

When they are finished writing and coloring, the squares can be displayed together to make an Easter Quilt.

These games can be printed in color on white paper or card or print them on green to give them a touch of St. Patrick's Day! 

Shamrock Math Ideas

Here a few simple ideas for some Shamrock math. These are a great way to bring a touch of St. Patrick's Day into your classroom. 

   

Draw a shamrock and write the numbers in a skip counting pattern in it BUT leave out 2 of the numbers. The challenge for your students will be to find the missing numbers. 

Next Shamrock math challenge is to draw a Shamrock and then fill it with 5 or 6 numbers. Make sure that 2 of the numbers add to a third number on the shamrock. The challenge is to find 2 numbers that will add to a third number on the Shamrock. You can make the numbers as simple or as difficult as you like. 

   

The next Shamrock Challenge is an odd one out challenge. Students have to find the odd one out in the Shamrock and give their reason for it being the odd one out. Can you find the odd one out in each of the shamrocks above?

St. Patrick's Day Writing Prompts

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner so why not use this special day as a motivator for getting kids to write! St. Patrick's day is perfect for getting kids excited about writing.

I have created a few things that you can use to get kids enthusiastic about writing this March.

                 

They can write about leprechauns, making wishes, Ireland or plan a St. Patrick's Day party. 
Sometimes all they need is a sentence starter to get their imaginations firing! 

St. Patrick's Day Writing Quilt

If you would like to get kids writing and creating an interesting display of their writing, then you will love the St. Patrick's Day Writing Quilt Squares.

Their are 7 St. Patrick's Day Writing Prompts to choose from and each one comes in two different formats - 4 quilt squares to a page or 2 quilt squares to a page. You use them all or use just one.

The children do the writing activity on the sheet then color the small quilt squares.

They then cut out the large square and these can be displayed with their classmates' squares to make a large St. Patrick's Day writing quilt display.
